A tender lesbian love scene from 1997 Chinese film Intimates, aka Ji Sor starring Carina Lau and Charlie Yeung. A terrific film set in the war era of the 1940s, Intimates tells the moving story of the lives of 2 women from very different backgrounds whose paths cross, become inextricably tied together only to be separated during a bombing raid.
Carina Lau plays the 8th wife of a rich silk factory owner who rescues and saves the life Charlie Yeung’s character, a worker at the factory who nearly dies after a self-induced abortion. The lesbian love aspect of it is very subtle and at times heartbreaking. The film gives not only an insight to the lives of women during war time 1940s, but also has many beautiful, evocative scenes of society in old China.
