The 2007 TV movie Daphne starring Janet McTeer, Geraldine Somerville and Elizabeth McGovern is loosely based on the autobiography of one of the great women British writers Daphne du Maurier. The story is set during the years when Daphne du Maurier goes to America to face charges of plagiarism for her very successful book “Rebecca”. The movie also deals with her supposed secret lesbian tendencies as she becomes deeply infatuated with the American publishing tycoon’s wife Ellen Doubleday who unfortunately does not reciprocate. In between, she forms a close relationship with her father’s former mistress, the actress Gertrude Lawrence. Daphne is a fascinating look at the life of a woman who describes herself as a boy in woman’s body. This is a lesbian kissing video scene between Daphne and Ellen.
